Ugly Tomato started with a simple image — a homegrown tomato, oddly shaped but full of flavor. Not perfect, but unforgettable.
That’s the kind of beauty I’m drawn to — in sun-faded fabric, uneven stitches, hand-drawn lines, and offbeat ideas.
Whether I’m sewing, designing, or collecting, I follow what feels honest. A little raw. A little wild. Always personal.

It’s me, Jari — an architect by trade, a maker by heart.

I design spaces, but I’ve always been drawn to the smaller, quieter details of life — fabric, thread, found objects, imperfect shapes, and stories that stay with you.

I started Ugly Tomato as a way to reconnect. To slow down, create with my hands, explore new tools, and share what I find along the way
